GFSI Audit Schemes: Guide to Food Safety Certification
(Webinar length:  1 hr  33min)

Overview:

Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification has become a common market requirement
for the food industry as a tool for assuring food safety, customer and regulatory compliance.
Implementation of one of the GFSI audit schemes is now a common customer requirement for
many agricultural producers, produce packers, storage and distribution facilities, packaging
material production, food manufacturers, and dairy processors.

Getting started on the path to factory certification to one of these audit schemes can be a
daunting task. Many questions create a challenge: What GFSI audit scheme should be
chosen for our facility? What is BRC, SQF, FSSC, or PrimusGFS? Where can I locate a copy
of the audit scheme? How do I learn what the audit scheme requirements really mean? How
do I prepare the facility for certification? Which certification body should be chosen to conduct
the plant audit? How much time and money will it take to prepare the facility and to conduct
the audit?
During this webinar, we will introduce the Global Food Safety Initiative, and present the most
frequently used audit schemes by the food industry. We will review in detail the process for
achieving certification by laying out a clear roadmap of key tasks.
