| Strategy of Experimentation Strategy of Experimentation – Accelerating Speed to Successful Product Launch (Webinar length: 1h 16m) Overview Most new product development efforts fail to live up to consumer expectations and therefore fail in the marketplace. The development process suffers from artificially compressed timelines which force shortcuts leading to data-less decisions and ultimate disappointment. At end, there is little to salvage because the development process lacks strategy and data to provide feedback for rectification. The Strategy of Experimentation (SOE) teaches a data- driven, systematic approach to the generation of new products and processes. Its use helps avoid blind alleys and wasted corporate resources. Based on Statistical Thinking, the SOE takes a process approach by first examining desired outcomes, influencing factors and resources. Then, screening experimental designs are used to isolate key factors and their interactions. Factors are then set to peak performance using optimizing designs. Resulting formulations and process settings are verified prior to launch. When this strategy is followed, the probability of market success is increased greatly. Learning Objectives: Learn what it takes to change R&D culture to one of data driven decisions Learn necessary conditions for leaders and staff to coordinate with client groups for R&D scheduling Learn to implement and monitor successive stages of product development leading to streamlined processes and unbeatable products Who will benefit: Research Leaders and Senior Staff Technical Management Product Developers Product Improvement Staff Marketing Staff wishing to know more about Research Quality Management Corporate Strategists Sensory Evaluation and Consumer Specialists Market Researchers Presenter--Lynne Hare, Ph.D. Lynne Hare is a consulting statistician emphasizing business process improvement in R&D, Manufacturing and other strategic functions. Serving a large client base, he has helped bring about culture change in Research by accelerating speed to the successful launch of new products and processes and in Manufacturing through the reduction of process variation. His former positions include the Director of Applied Statistics at Kraft Foods, Chief of Statistical Engineering at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Director of Technical Services at T.J. Lipton (a Unilever company), Manager of Statistical Applications there as well, Statistics Group Leader at Hunt-Wesson Foods and Visiting Professor at Rutgers University. Lynne’s technical expertise includes experimental strategies and design of experiments for Research as well as quality and productivity improvement for Manufacturing. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers University and an A.B. in mathematics from The Colorado College. Lynne is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and former chairman of its Section on Quality and Productivity. He is also a Fellow of the American Society for Quality and former chairman of its Statistics Division. The ASQ has awarded him the William G. Hunter and Ellis R. Ott Awards for excellence in quality management. Kraft Foods presented him with the Technology Leadership Award for career accomplishments. He writes a column for Quality Progress Magazine and has numerous publications in technical journals. Webinar Price ($289) Click here to buy it Copyright (C) All rights reserved. FoodHACCP.com.
